Long term affects from burns

This page will hopefully grow as I find more information regarding long term affects from burns.

Some things we do know are that most burn survivors have thermal issues. Seeing that burns affect your bodies ability to regulate body temperature. Some people might have a problem maintaining warmth, as others have a problem cooling down also known as "overheating". Currently a few survivors and myself are experimenting with the idea that when we overheat our core temp drops which makes it appear to our bodies that it is hotter than it really is.

Overheating can cause problems like excessive sweating , exhaustion, passing out or I am sure even death. For burn survivors who have this problem it can take longer to cool down . Which makes this a very serious problem. Many have need for external cooling even in milder climates. Thus costing a lot in cooling cost. And For those who have the reverse, keeping warm cost more of course in heating cost.

There may also be an increased risk to burn survivors for accidental or violent deaths, including suicide, assault, and deaths related to substance and/or alcohol abuse. Another thing we are looking for information on is long term affects on joints. Some sites seem to show that the extreme temperatures might cause changes to the our joints thus causing long time discomfort or debilitating pain making it harder for us in our later years. But again I am looking for information on this subject.

I will add more as I find it
